Skilled Wound Management

Complex Wound Care

Wounds that will not heal normally need more than a dressing change. Liberty Advanced Nursing provides complex wound care at home in Maryland: skilled assessment, ordered treatment, careful documentation, and infection prevention, all directed by an RN and delivered per the physician's plan of care. Liberty evaluates each wound-care referral under its licensure, payer approval, and available staffing before arranging services.

01

Assessment and documentation

Nurses evaluate the wound at each visit, measure and photograph progress when appropriate, and document findings so the physician can adjust the plan of care with reliable information.

02

Ordered treatment

Dressings, cleansing, and adjunctive treatments are performed according to the physician's orders, using the supplies and techniques prescribed.

03

Caregiver education

Families learn proper hand hygiene, how to recognize infection, and when to call the care team, so everyone involved protects the wound between nursing visits.

Who This Fits

Complex wound care fits patients with surgical wounds, pressure injuries, diabetic or vascular wounds, and wounds that have stalled despite routine care.

Services are provided when authorized, clinically appropriate, within Liberty's licensure and payer approval, and when qualified staffing is available. This page is educational and is not medical advice.
